Director of Program Management

Responsibilities:

  • Program Management – Plan and coordinate the resources necessary to successfully design, build, execute testing, and ship Neato Robotics products.  Responsibility for reviewing and reporting on monthly cost and schedule variances, corrective actions and supporting finance and schedule updates.
  • Technical and Programmatic Leadership - Provide technical and programmatic leadership by supporting staffing plans, hiring and training plans.
  • Work with engineering and design teams to identify and resolve technical issues across the product lifecycle.
  • Lead large and complex technical programs.
  • Develop project summary presentations for reviews, internal team meetings.
  • Program Execution - Drive execution of a complex development program on budget and schedule.
  • Manage product development planning, testing and certification with focus on established quality metrics.
  • Establish and maintain regular business rhythm, consistent products, action tracking, and consolidate information for effective decision making.
  • Maintain and routinely report performance to plan on schedule, resources, cost, and technical performance metrics.
  • Develop efficient program management reporting for program and company level reviews.
  • Change Management - Lead change management activities to evaluate, coordinate, and approve new requirements or changes to company policies and program directives.
  • Risk Management - Support program risk management process, tracking and implementation of mitigation plans.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • BS Degree required;
  • Minimum of 7+ years experience in project management in high-tech development
  • Experience managing complex multi-disciplinary projects involving internal staff, outside consultants, design firms, and company partnerships
  • Experience working with high volume consumer products shipping to international markets
  • Experience working with off-shore manufacturers and international partners
  • Ability to create and efficiently manage project schedules, budgets, specifications, resources, and risk management plans for complex programs involving hardware, software and mechanical systems.
  • Strong verbal and written skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts
  • Great process and documentation discipline including the ability to write and maintain product requirements, engineering specifications, and BOMs
  • Familiarity with injection molded plastics, consumer electronics, software test and integration, high volume manufacturing, documentation control, quality control and product testing
  • Ability to execute projects to a schedule and negotiate trade-offs between scope, resources, and timelines

Desirable Experience:

  • Program management experience
  • Agile Scrum certification
  • Ability to work on both hardware and software integrated products
  • Background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing engineering
  • Experience managing software and hardware integration
  • Experience and interest in robotics
  • Chinese language skills

  • Ability to travel internationally
