Neato Robotics is looking for a talented and seasoned Director of Software Product Management to join our growing world class team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the company-wide integrated software roadmap across robot software, cloud systems, mobile apps, voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri) and more.
  • Represent the consumer/user to the development organization including a deep understanding of how the competition is implementing experiences and features and analyzing/forecasting the future competitive landscape and how Neato can standout experience wise
  • Doing the homework for the organization thru user studies, tests and other market research to better understand our user's behaviors and identify potential new use cases to capture unmet needs in the market
  • Collaborate with UX designers and various engineering teams (cloud, app, robot software, etc.) to determine the feasibility and design options for new features.
  • Work closely with hardware team members, including robot product managers, designers, and engineers, to align software plans with the hardware roadmap.
  • Review plans with the executive team to ensure that the roadmap is consistent with larger business initiatives and prioritize work across various projects. 
  • Perform product responsibilities, both as an individual contributor and product management team leader, managing and developing other product managers.
  • Collaborate with the user experience team and help drive market research activities as needed to support the roadmap and feature development process. 
  • Lead the development of detailed feature requirements and ensure that they are organized in project tracking tools used be each development team.
  • Prioritize development efforts and organize releases across various design/development teams to support multiple product development timelines. 
  • Negotiate feature requirements with partner companies and suppliers as needed. 
  • Analyze various types of data and perform/direct consumer research to identify user experience pain points and opportunities to delight consumers in new ways.
  • Support the launch of new releases or products by working closely with many groups through the organization, including outbound marketing, customer support, sales, public relations, etc. 
  • Lead the development supporting documentation for new software releases and help train customer support about new feature.
  • Provide feedback/input for branding, messaging, and product positioning to other marketing team members.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in a software-related role developing successful consumer products
  • Demonstrated ability to form a vision and lead cross-functional team members toward a goal
  • People management experience, hiring and developing other product managers.
  • Experience working with agile development processes.
  • Experience with mobile app development, cloud technologies, and device software.
  • Experience with design-related topics and methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, engineering, or other technical field.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Experience in a robotics related field
  • Experience with “smart home” IOT products/services like Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, etc.
  • MBA or Master’s degree in a design or product development related program
